Genpact, Cisco partner for ‘Global Center of Excellence’

Global business process management company Genpact and American networking company Cisco have collaborated for a global center of excellence in Jaipur which will be a part of Cisco’s Lighthouse City project, a global initiative to extend its smart cities initiative.

Through this deal, Jaipur administration will use Cisco’s global network benefiting the pink city in terms of economic and social transformation. The global center will be hosted and operated in Genpact’s facility in Jaipur and serve as an innovation lab for Genpact and its partnering technology firms where they can test and deploy the latest smart technology advances from Cisco so that Jaipur becomes a fully responsive, smart and connected city, according to a report in The Economic Times.

“Government leaders today increasingly recognise the importance of digitisation as the foundation for economic growth, job creation, and the development of a knowledgeable workforce” said John Chambers, Executive Chairman, Cisco in conversation with the paper. A Memorandum of Understanding has also been signed between Genpact, Cisco, and the Government of Rajasthan according to which, Genpact is using data gathered from Cisco’s Smart+Connected Digital Platform (CDP), Cisco Connected Mobile Experiences, and Cisco Video Surveillance Manager Solutions to develop analytics-driven technology applications in the Center.

“We believe this collaboration will have a resounding ripple effect on a global scale by demonstrating how collaborative innovation can result in making a large city like Jaipur truly truly smart and connected,” said NV ‘Tiger’ Tyagarajan, President and Chief Executive Officer, Genpact.
