DMRC to start Pink Line of 8.1 km

With the recent development by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to open the Pink Line (8.1 km), which extends from Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus to Lajpat Nagar section will provide solace to commuters of INA, Sarojini Nagar, South Extension and Lajpat Nagar with quick access. The move came after the recent line between Majlis Park and Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus station, the first 20.6 km section, was started.

Delhi Metro Pink LineA DMRC spokesperson said, “With frequent trials between Durgabhai Deshmukh South Campus and Lajpat Nagar, the section is likely to get green flag by July. Also the formalities as to testimony for inspection by Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) was completed with some other important prior approvals.”

“The extensions are underway between Shiv Vihar and I P Extension, and will be stretched towards Trilokpuri with a final touch by August. Moreover, sections between Lajpat Nagar and Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 is expected to be finished by September,” he added.

Besides, connecting the popular destinations of the city, two interchange stations are expected to reduce distance between different parts of NCR.

After second section of Pink Line is in progress, INA will be an interchange point between Pink Line and Yellow Line. Also with connectivity extended to Mayur Vihar section, is certainly going to reduce distance between Gurgoan  and other parts of south Delhi.
