Delhi Pollution: Breath of relief for Delhiites, AQI improves to ‘moderate’ category

A relief for Delhiites as the national capital’s air quality improved and stood in the ‘moderate’ category today, on November 18. The improvement has been attributed to favourable meteorological conditions and the reduction of farm fires. However, if compared from the AQI on November  17, the air quality deteriorated marginally and was recorded as 180 at 6 am today.

Delhi PollutionDelhi’s air which was hovering in the ‘severe’ category, as per the AQI, saw an improvement since the rain shower on November 16. The AQI that read 435 (severe category) on November 15, on Diwali, improved to ‘poor’ category with 221 on November 16 and further improved to ‘moderate’ category with 171 AQI on Tuesday, November 17.

According to the scientists, due to high wind speeds throughout the week and negligible stubble burning activity, the air quality is expected to remain in the range of ‘moderate’ to ‘poor’.
