Delhi Govt launches dedicated website for COVID-19 updates and info

According to a press statement, the Government of Delhi, on April 28, has launched a dedicated website for all the COVID-19 related information and updates. The newly launched website – DelhiFightsCorona.in – would not only hold the updates on the COVID-19 affected cases, deaths and those recovered but will act as a single-portal with a detailed list of testing facilities, geo-locations of the containment zones in the city, ration shops, hunger relief centres, and temporary relief centres, said the press statement.

The website would also feature a dedicated tab for e-passes to help the people apply for free meal passes and e-passes for their movement during the lockdown period. Also, the website will house an FAQs section and all links related of government press releases, the statement said.

As quoted by a national daily, a senior journalist said, “The containment zones section has the locations of all the red zones or the hot spots of COVID-19 in Delhi. The locations are updated from time to time as decided by the government. This section also has a brief description of the Operation SHIELD, a unique initiative by the Delhi government under the direct supervision of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, to tackle the spread of Covid-19 in the containment zones.”

Further, the statement said, the testing facility section will house a list of COVID-19 testing centres set up by the government as well as the private ones. Also, the portal will hold the necessary information on how to avail of the testing. People can get to know about the centre’s location by clicking on the name of the respective centre on the list. Under the ration shop section, there is a list of over 2,000 ration shops which can also be searched constituency-wise, the google map location of the shops are also available on the portal, the statement added.
