Dehradun hosts 29 IAS probationers from J&K for smart city training

To provide a significant boost to the Centre’s flagship Smart City Mission, the Jammu & Kashmir government has taken an initiative wherein the Dehradun Smart City is holding one of the biggest inter-state cadre training programmes hosting 29 IAS probationers from J&K to study smart city works.

The initiative has been taken by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir following the directions from the Centre, said J&K cadre IAS officer NP Singh, currently serving as Secretary Forest. The training programme is for a duration of two weeks at the National Center for Good Governance under the Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy, Mussoorie.

On the programme, Dehradun Smart City CEO and Dehradun District Magistrate R Rajesh Kumar said, “Today, an interactive session was held with officers on works done by the Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL).”

He said, “The officers have had a good experience.” Such learning programmes will not only benefit the officers of Jammu and Kashmir but will also aid the Dehradun Smart City. These will undoubtedly enhance a broder learning about e-governance initiatives in the country, he added. As per Singh, during these interactions, the IAS trainees from Jammu and Kashmir also extended some suggestions and apprised them about the situation.

The CEO of Dehradun Smart City said, “An interactive session has been held with 29 officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service, in which work is being done for promoting Smart City Dehradun.”
