CM Kejriwal to inaugurate Waste-to-Energy plant at Ghazipur today

In a move to augment solid waste management in the national capital, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will inaugurate a waste to energy plant at the Ghazipur landfill site today.

According to the Environment Minister of Delhi Gopal Rai, the plant holds the capacity to treat 15 tonnes of waste in a day producing 1500 units of energy daily. The Minister also informed that the CM will inaugurate a fish and poultry market in the near residential area.

The plant will manage the biodegradable waste from the market on a daily basis so as to avoid dumping at the landfill and utilise the waste for producing energy.
