Aurangabad Smart City

The Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) recently organaised a day-long workshop to disucuss various projects to be implemented under the Smart City Mission.

The workshop covered discussions on a range of projects including heritage and urban planning, housing, environment, solid waste management and sanitation, transport and roads, supply and conservation, IT, health and education, among others.

As part of the smart city project on urban mobility, the city is set to receive 50 buses for public by the end of this year. Earlier this year, ASCDCL had invited tenders for 100 non-ac diesel floor height buses, which will be purchased in phases.

To reflect the city’s unique historic, cultural and industrial identity, the city’s municipal corporation had invited artists and art organisations to create designs for the exterior of the buses.

ASCDCL had also invited RFP from national and international firms “possessing relevant capabilities” for “appointment of Master System Integrator (MSI) for supply, implementation, integration, operation and maintenance of ICT components” of the Smart City project.
