
Bharatpur city in Rajasthan is likely to join the Smart City league in the near future as steps to include the city under the Centre’s Smart City Mission has been upscaled. The State’s urban Development Department has recently sent a proposal to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) regarding the consideration of Bharatpur for Smart Cities Mission.

As per a report a national daily, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has also directed the Urban Development Department for the cause. According to Subhash Garg, Minister of State for Medicine and Health, Bharatpur will see rapid growth and development and an increase in the rate of employment after joining the Smart Cities Mission.
