Hong Kong releases Blueprint to make itself ‘Smart’

Smart City BlueprintTo make Hong Kong a world-class Smart City, the Hong Kong Government has released the Smart City Blueprint.

It gives a detailed analysis of the development plans for the next five years, with an aim to enhance the effectiveness of city management.

The city plans to use innovations in technology to improve people’s quality of living as well as Hong Kong’s attractiveness and sustainability.

The Government had undertaken  a comprehensive consultancy study which made short-, medium- and long-term recommendations in six major areas, namely: “Smart Mobility”, “Smart Living”, “Smart Environment”, “Smart People”, “Smart Government” and “Smart Economy”.

There was a provision to gauge public feedback on the projects as well.

TThe Government has taken into consideration Hong Kong’s challenges, unique local situation and strengths and opportunities ahead, and maps out in the Blueprint its smart city development plans in the next five years, and beyond.
