
The Government of Uttar Pradesh has initiated a host of projects on road development and building expressways in the state ensuring better connectivity.
The project on priority is the Purvanchal Expressway and is likely to complete it by August 2020.
The 341 kilometre long expressway will be located between Lucknow and Ghazipur. The expressway will pass through Amethi, Ambedkar Nagar, Sultanpur, Faizabad, Azamgarh and Mau.
As per reports, 96 percent of the land acquisition process has been completed. Anup Chandra Pandey, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary and Awanish Awasthi, CEO, Industrial Developmental Authority, UP Expressway have instructed concerned authorities to complete the land acquisition process by June 15.
As per plan, there would be an 89 kilometre link way on the expressway to connect it to Gorakhpur.
Another project of the state government is Bundelkhand expressway which would connect the backward districts of Bundelkhand such as Banda, Hamirpur, Jalaun to Agra Lucknow expressway in Etawah.
The 296 kilometre expressway is likely to be completed by 2021. Around 79 percent land acquisition has been completed for this project.
The other project is Ganga Expressway, connecting Meerut and Prayagraj. The 600 KM expressway will connect districts such as Meerut, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Sambhal, Badaun, Farrukhabad, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh to Prayagraj.
