Dehradun Smart City data centre to be inaugurated in December

Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) is planning to inaugurate its Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) in the IT Park at Sahastradhara Road on December 25, Good Governance Day.

With an estimated budget of around Rs 294.41 crore, the project is aimed at providing ‘ease of living’ to the residents of the city. It will integrate Smart Solid Waste Management, Environment Sensors, Intelligent Traffic Management System Solution, Smart Parking, among others.

The work for all the facilities is expected to start from December 25 and will be completed by May 2020.

According to reports, the project includes – installation of around 500 cameras powered by artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor traffic flow at red lights; installation of smart garbage bins with in-built sensors that will notify the nearest garbage collection vehicle when they reach 70 percent capacity; and launch of ‘Doon One’ app which will help the public with matters related to registration of birth, death and other municipal certificates.
