
According to a press release, at seven stations of the Salem Railway Division, additional refund counters would function from Thursday, June 4.
The counters will remain operational from 10 in the morning to 5 in the evening on a daily basis. After getting tokens from the Chief Reservation Supervisor of the concerned stations, people would be allowed for cancellation of their tickets. Tokens would be issued from 8 am onwards, added the release.
The seven stations where the refund counters will function are – Udagamandalam, Coonoor, Mettupalayam, Coimbatore North, Podanur Junction, Salem Town and Tiruppatur. Moreover, as per the release, fresh booking of tickets for special trains in the State would also be done across the counters. Passengers have been advised to book tickets online through the official portal to practice social distancing.
Also, the release stated that the refund would be given for the trains cancelled after March 22 and for the tickets purchased through online mode in the website. Also, for counter tickets, 100 percent refund would be made available for all the cancelled trains up to 180 days from the date of journey.
