Smart City Itanagar has appealed to the government departments and residents of the Arunanchal capital to cooperate in completing the task of preparing the Ease of Living Index and the Municipal Performance Index before the submission deadline of February 29, 2020, fixed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
“The index aims to assess the ease of living of citizens in the cities across three pillars of ease of living – the quality of life, economic ability, and sustainability,” Smart City Itanagar CEO Bhanu Prabha was quoted as saying by a local daily.
According to Prabha, the index will cover 20 sectors, such as education, health, sanitation, fiscal responsibility, transparency, accountability, etc, to examine the sectoral performance of municipalities as well as government departments.
Over 50 assessors have been deployed to collect and collate information from various departments and assist in uploading data and documents to the assessment protocol.
“We have collected information from various government departments, such as education, banks, medical, urban development, PHE, town planning, etc,” the Itanagar Smart City CEO said.
The ‘citizen perception survey’, both online and offline, was launched by MoHUA on January 1 and will conclude on February 29.
