
Karnal Smart City Limited (KSCL), the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) has taken up projects to beautify the four major entry points to Karnal, Haryana.
According to KSCL, a budget of Rs 40 crores has been allocated for this project. The areas included under the project are the stretches between Baldi bypass and NDRI, Devi Lal Chowk and Maharana Pratap Chowk, Namastey Chowk and Meera Ghati Chowk and Meera Ghati Chowk and Luv Kush Chowk.
Under an Area Based Development (ABD) plan, these stretches would be turned into smart roads.
As per the plan, the overhead wires will be converted to underground power lines for this project. The other features would include tactile flooring, solar panel and solar trees among others.
Rajiv Kumar Mehta, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), KSCL has been quoted as saying, “One side of the stretch between Baldi bypass and the NDRI will be developed as a heritage road on the theme of legendary Karan and Mahabharata.”
