The Patna’s Energy Department will replace all the electricity meters of 1.5 consumers in the State with prepaid smart meters soon.

Principal Secretary of the Energy Department Pratyaya Amrit recently made a detailed presentation in front of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

The project will take three years to complete. CM, while praising the work, also instructed the team to complete this project as soon as possible.

Now the team is working on a new plan to complete the smart metering project in just two years.
On a pilot basis, the Energy Department has provided 111 pre-paid meters at Maurya Lok Complex in Patna two months back.

Once installed, consumers will be able to recharge at any time in a month according to his requirement.
