
In a bid to develop congestion free roads, Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) is planning to construct a barrier free road for a stretch of 650 metres between Trimbak Naka Signal to Savarkar Swimming pool along Trimbak Road of the city.
According to NMC, the budget allocated for this project is Rs 4.5 crore. The estimated duration to complete the project is three to four months.
As per the officials, the plan is to construct a footpath and a cycle track with width of 3.5 metres and three metres on both sides of the road. Drainage line and cable ducts will be constructed below the footpaths and cycle tracks.
On the other hand, Nashik Municipal Smart City Development Corporation Ltd (NMSCDL) has also undertaken a project to develop smart roads between Ashok Stambh to Trimbak Naka. The distance covered in this stretch is 1.1 kilometre.
This smart road project will connect with the barrier free road from the point where It is ending at Trimbak Nagar.
The proposed features in the smart road include properly designed footpaths, cycle tracks, road intersection development, infrastructure utility ducts below footpath, road marking, storm water drainage and landscaping among others.
