Deputy Divisional Commissioner (General Administration) Jagdish Miniyar has been elevated to the rank of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Smart City Mission in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The announcement came through an official order issued by V. Radha, Additional Chief Secretary (Services), on December 21.
The CEO position had been vacant for several years, with responsibilities managed in the interim by the Municipal Commissioner and Administrator of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC). Miniyar’s promotion and appointment are anticipated to reinvigorate the mission’s efforts in urban development and innovation.
Miniyar has been instructed to consult with the Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue and Registration and Stamps) to formally hand over his current responsibilities before assuming his new role. A seasoned administrator, he has served as Deputy Commissioner for more than three years and briefly acted as Divisional Commissioner until June 2024.
His leadership is expected to bring a strategic vision and renewed momentum to the Smart City Mission, which plays a significant role in modernising urban infrastructure and services in the region.
