This hemicyclic corridor seamlessly integrates Gurugram’s residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional zones, including Udyog Vihar, Cyber City, and emerging Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) areas along Dwarka Expressway.
By linking old and new Gurugram, the metro not only enhances connectivity across historic cores and modern business districts but also promotes equitable access to employment centres, educational institutions, and social amenities. GMRL’s metro system is built on modern, highly reliable technology. The 750V DC third rail traction system ensures safe and compact train operations, while a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system allows for real-time monitoring and centralised operational control. AdvaWnced signalling, communication, and safety systems are incorporated to optimise train frequency, reduce waiting times, and enhance commuter safety.

Sustainability & environmental responsibility
Environmental sustainability is at the core of GMRL’s planning. Stations are designed with energy-efficient architecture, natural lighting, and ventilation to minimise energy consumption. GMRL is also promoting Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) along metro corridors to create mixed-use urban spaces that encourage walking, cycling, and the use of public transport. The corporation recorded a 13.59% increase in ridership, with 62.49 lakh passengers using the Rapid Metro between April and July 2025, reflecting growing public confidence in the system. By assuming operations and maintenance from DMRC, GMRL aims to streamline
