
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai writes a letter to Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) seeking action to shut all the 11 thermal power plants operating in the capital, within a week.
The Minister in his letter stated that the power plants have filed to necessary adopt technological measures to control polllution. They have failed to install flue gas, desulphurisation and selective catalyst reduction to control sulphur-based and nitrogenous gases, stated the letter.

The minister further called for a collective effort saying that if Gurugram and Faridabad get the allowance to continue the use of diesel generators not only Delhi but the air in the entire region will get polluted. Air is the same for the region hence, we need a collective approach.
