Andhra Government launches ‘Smart Tourism’ projects

andhra pradesh tourismAndhra Pradesh has finalised 13 tourism companies which will be allowed to set up their ventures in the State.

Companies from United States, Nepal and other neighbouring countries have been invitedto take up tourism projects ranging from Rs 20-200 crore.

Some of the projects include theme parks, resorts, go-karting tracks, five-star hotels and amusement parks

The city’s excellent air, rail and road connectivity is one of the main reasons behind the tourism firms’ interest in setting up shop in Vizag.

Tnhe AP tourism department in association with the sub-committee of AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (APCCIF) have received nearly 30 proposals out of which these 13 firms were selected.

The State Government will land to the firms, which in turn have to pay five per cent of the land value as a lease amount to the government per year.
Nearly 80 per cent of the projects will be set up along the coastline of Visakhapatnam coastline.

Andhra Pradesh has also started a Heli-tourism project in Visakhapatnam.

The helicopter ride will cover not only the city but also the surrounding attractions like Kailasagiri, city’s famous beaches, Yerra Matti Dibbalu etc.

 There are also plans to turn the city in a popular wedding destination.
“We have plans to develop Vizag as a preferred wedding destination in the future. We want to make it a beautiful, global class city.We would encourage entrepreneurs who want to set up hotels here,” said N Chandrababu Naidu, while inaNaidu said .
