‘Goamiles’ to improve mobility in GoaIn a bid to ease the search for mode of transportation in Goa – Goamiles – a taxi-hailing app of Goa Tourism Development Corporation’s (GTDC) will be launched by tourism minister Manohar Azgaonkar for citizens and tourists.

Since this app is in the final stage of testing, it has already gained many eyeballs, which is apparent by 2,800 licensed taxi-drivers registering for this application. Moreover, the number seems to be growing day by day.

“This application is aimed to revolutionise the transportation system in Goa for all stakeholders – tourists, taxi-drivers, and locals. I’m sure, that the tourist drivers across the state will become part of this digital system, so as to keep the esteem of Goa high as to other states where such system is working ideally,” Azgaonkar said.

GTDC chairman Nilesh Cabral said, “In order to spread the awareness about ‘Goamiles’ a public campaign will be launched soon. We are expecting an overwhelming response. This app of tourism serves the purpose for daily commutes as well.”

“A session will be conducted by Goamiles team to educate drivers about the use of this app, which could serve public and at the same time boost business,” GTDC further added.
