Centre aids Rs 784 cr for smart cities projects in Rajasthan

smart cities projects in RajasthanMinistry of Housing and Urban Affairs has released Rs 784 crore for four Smart Cities of Rajasthan which was selected under 99 Smart Cities list announced under the flagship programme of the Central Government.

The four selected Smart Cities—Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota and Ajmer—will gear up various projects like smart roads, rejuvenation of water bodies, cycle tracks, walking paths, smart classrooms, skill development centres, upgradation of health facilities and pan-city projects like integrated command and control centres, etc.

Jaipur Smart City Limited (JSCL) has proposed worth Rs 600 crore projects under smart cities. Similarly, Smart City Udaipur has laid foundation stones for six major works worth around Rs 300 crore.

According to reports, the Centre has released about Rs 9,940 crore to the states for 99 Smart Cities.
