Water supply projects worth Rs 8,230.5 cr under implementation in UP, Maharashtra

Water supply projects worth Rs 4,550.80 crores and Rs 3,679.70 crores are under implementation in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs saidp on Tuesday.

“162 water supply projects worth 4,550.80 crore are under implementation in #UttarPradesh,” said a tweet from the ministry’s official handle.

“Water Supply projects worth 3679.70 crore are under implementation in Maharastra,” informed another tweet from MoHUA.

The projects are being implemented under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), which was launched by the Government of India in 2015 with an aim to provide “basic services (e.g. water supply, sewerage, urban transport) to households and build amenities in cities which will improve the quality of life for all, especially the poor and the disadvantaged” on a priority basis.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs also said that 11 drainage projects and 42 sewerage and septage management projects worth Rs 32.56 crores and Rs 180.12 crores respectively are under implementation in Uttarakhand under AMRUT.

Besides these, 99 park development projects worth Rs 80.95 crore are being implemented in Andhra Pradesh, the ministry said.
