Vijay Rupani to inaugurate Smart City Summit, Rajkot

Smart City Summit, RajkotGujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will inaugurate Smart City Summit, Rajkot on Sunday. The event is being organised by Rajkot Municipal Corporation in association with Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd.

From Rajkot Municipal Corporation, Banchhanidhi Pani, Municipal Commissioner, and Binaben Jayendrabhai Acharya, Mayor, will be present along with other authorities.

The event will initiate with a panel discussion on ‘Building more responsive cities across India and funding through challenges’ which will be moderated by  Jai Prakash Shivhara, Managing Director of Dholera Special Investment Regional Development Authority (DSIRDA). The panel is likely to see the presence of Utpal Sharma, Director at Institute of Architecture, Nirma University, Jayesh Hariyani, Chairman, INI Design Studio, Emani Kumar, Executive Director, ICLEI South Asia and Pradeep Udhas, Managing Director, KPMG.

It will be followed by Inauguration session with inaugural ‘Saurashtra’s Financial Hub to Smart City, Rajkot Riding High’ and will also see inauguration of Expo by Shri Vijay Rupani, Chief Minister of Gujarat which will highlight – Smart City website launch, inauguration of Master Plan of ABD, Announcement of Eyeway Project Phase II and inauguration of Solar Aji.

After this, there will be a session on Internet of Things Ecosystem that will through light on Smart Buildings, Smart Infrastructure and Smart Security Solution. It is likely to have the presence of Anupam Singh Gehlot, Commissioner of Police, Rajkot; M. Nagarajan, Collector, Aravalli; Arun Mahesh Babu, DDO, Ahmedabad and Gautam Madan, Head Strategy & Marketing – Honeywell Building as moderators.

Subsequent to this, a session on ‘Leveraging Intelligent Transport & Smart Mobility for Transforming Urban Landscape’ will be held that is likely to see the moderators – Vijay Anadkat, Senior Manager, Urban Transport, WRI India; P.G. Gundaliya, AP LE College Morbi; Dr Gaurang Joshi, SVNIT Surat and Ujjaval Solanki, AP Darshan Engineering College.  

The event will conclude with a session on ‘Innovations & Best Practices in Effective Waste Management for Sustainable Development’ which is hopeful to see participants – Pankaj Patel, Abellon Clean Energy Ltd; Neetika Chhabra, KPMG; Saumya Chakraborty, ECLEE and Apporva Parekh, Multimedia.

This will be the 32nd Smart City Summit organised by Elets who has the vision of organising more than 100 events across the globe. Before this event, Gujarat CM, Vijay Rupani had inaugurated the Smart City Summit, Surat last month.  Â
