UP govt to work with Niti Aayog for state’s growth

Uttar Pradesh government and Niti Aayog have jointly formed a working group to prepare a roadmap for the state development, specially in the areas it is lagging behind despite huge growth potential.

The six-member working group will have three members from Niti Aayog and three from UP government. They would sit together and chalk out a strategy to take forward the development index of the state

“Uttar Pradesh has been lagging behind in several areas but there is a huge potential to transform the state. We will work with them (state government) to focus on outcomes of the joint working group,”said  National Institution for Transforming India (Niti) Aayog Chief Executive Amitabh Kant in an event held in Lucknow where Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath and  Niti Aayog’s Vice-Chairman Arvind Panagariya were also present.

The primary focus of this group will be health, education, infrastructure and tourism, reported The Economic Times.
Kant said that Uttar Pradesh’s development is crucial for the overall development of the country.
