A smart parking solution executed in the city of Liege in Belgium over narrowband-Internet of Things (NB-loT) technology will be instituted by CommuniThings, a start-up selected by the Orange Fab Belux.
In order to find available parking space via a mobile application while shopping, the Shop & Drive solution gives ideal assistance. Supported by Orange Belgium’s Mobile loT network, this smart parking solution accesses the low-power wireless sensors and open-data application and aids retailers, municipalities and residents.
With this, the users will get the benefit for parking their vehicle via their smartphone and locate the available space. After parking, they will be given room for 30 minutes to carry out other necessary activities. The data as to parking is provided to parking managers which highlight patterns per parking and comparative analysis between periods, also parking controllers are made cognizant about parking duration.
“The optimal surge has been acknowledged as to these changes in the number of vehicle rotation per spot. With this smart parking solution, over the NB-loT, we look forward to building good relation with Orange’s technical experts which will give rise to more solutions for various segments across all cities and business,” said Etay Oren, CEO of CommuniThings.
