Rs 8,000cr township to come up along Pune-Solapur highway

A Pune based real-estate developer has launched a massive township project under the Maharashtra Special Township Act at Loni on the Pune-Solapur highway at an estimated cost of Rs 8,000 crore.

The township project – called DSK Dream City – will be spread over 300 acres, of which 256 acres have already been acquired. It involves building about 12,000 residential units in seven phases with a target to complete it in eight years. The first phase of 1,044 homes has just been announced, and is expected to be ready for handing over by the end of 2017.

The township, being developed by the D S Kulkarni Developers, will have clearly demarcated areas for sports, IT parks, malls and markets, schools and an entertainment zone away from the residential areas. The planned IT park will cover an area of 20 lakh sq.ft . The other amenities proposed are a seven-star hotel, 15 academies for sports, 26 cricket pitches,14 gardens including a botanical garden. and a total of 250 amenities. Other star attractions are an artificial river with a usable transport system as well as a 57,000 sq.m lagoon. A tram system is also envisaged for the township. Other  Eco-friendly initiatives like rain water harvesting, sewage treatment and water recycling will help provide water for the township.

The DSK Developers is the flagship company of the DSK Group that has interests in automotive, education, IT, hospitality and construction space, among others. An international campus housing hostels and schools for animation, gaming and industrial design have already been established as part of the township.
