Railways launch digitised records for Ajmer division

The Ajmer division of North Western Railways (NWR) has created digitised records whereby employees will be able to check their service sheet online using their user ID and password. Ajmer is the first division in NWR where such digital facility has been initiated.
This digital initiative will will help the employees. Point of Sales (PoS) machines are also being installed at differen t division of the NWR so as to promote cashless transactions, reported The Times of India.

Railways is already promoting cashless transaction in Ajmer, Udaipur, Raniand other railway stations.

For Ajmer, a major container depot of Northern Railways has started functioning at Khemli station, between Chittorgarh and Udaipur.

This is the first such depot in Ajmer division of of North West Railways (NWR). The depot, which was included in Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu’s Mission 100, was completed in seven months.

The Rs 33.54-crore facility will also help to develop the handicraft industry in this region.

The container depot has an area of about 15 acres for storing marble and other goods for transport to different parts of the country

The Ajmer railway division provided the land to the Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR) which completed the project in about seven months.
