Noida to Gurugram in 50 mins thanks to new Magenta Line Metro

The Janakpuri West-Kalkaji Mandir section of the Magenta Line will be operational on 29th May. It will reduce the travel time between Gurugram and Noida to 50 minutes and put IGI Airport’s domestic terminal on the Delhi Metro Map.

This section will open the train services from Kalkaji Mandir and Janakpuri West stations, said Anuj Dayal, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation spokesperson.

The frequency would be 5 minutes and 15 seconds and the number of trains functional will be 26.

This line was first to get ‘driverless’ train technology and DMRC will install smart card vending machines in three stations of the corridor–Botanical Garden, Janakpuri West, and Terminal 1-IGI airport. Residents of Noida will get directly connectivity to the airport.

The corridor will have two interchange facilities at Janakpuri West (with the Dwarka-Noida/ Vaishali Blue Line) and Hauz Khas (with the HUDA City Centre–Samaypur Badli Yellow line.

Commuters from Gurugram will now change trains at Hauz Khas instead of Rajiv Chowk to reach South Delhi and Noida within 50 minutes.

The 23 km track is underground out of 25.6 km and the rest is elevated. This corridor will reduce congestion on the Rajiv Chowk Metro station.
