Lucknow Metro Rail to run at 90kmph during trials

Lucknow Metro Rail can now conduct trial runs at a speed of 90 kmph as Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) has awarded it a speed certificate for the same.

Trial runs for Lucknow metro were recently conducted at a speed of 60kmph from Transport Nagar to Mawaiya Metro station. During this high speed trial, all the safety parameters were successfully evaluated.

Now with this certificate, trial runs will be done at a speed of 90kmph. It will also go through load tests where artificial loads equivalent to crush loading of eight passengers per square meters. To achieve this, huge number of sand bags would be used in the train.European experts are continuously monitoring the systems and trains and ensuring best technical support to the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation technical team.

LMRC is taking all initiative to ensure that the metro train is ready for public operation by the end of the March, 2017.
