Lucknow Municipal Corporation’s LED vans hit city roads

mygov_1447061692190667The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has launched LED vans across the city on the last three days, i.e. March 29, 30 and 31, of the Smart City Challenge campaign. This will help create awareness and engage more and more citizens in the campaign, so as to draft the final smart city proposal for the fast-track round, to be submitted by April 6 to the state government for approval.

“Multiple LED light vans will be introduced at different locations of the city with a purpose to make people aware about the smart city challenge and engage the citizens to give their suggestions and ideas which will help us to prepare the final Lucknow smart city proposal for the second round of selection”, P K Srivastava, Additional Municipal Commissioner said.

Starting from the head-office of LMC at Lalbagh ,these LED vans are to be used from Tuesday and cover all the major areas of the city including Kaiserbagh, Charbagh, Rajajipuram, Alambagh, Hazratganj, Vrindavan Yojna, Chowk, Mahanagar, Gomtinagar, Indiranagar, Aliganj, and Janakipuram etc.

The new proposal would include public’s suggestions and tasks undertaken by various local government departments for the betterment of the state capital.

“For the last 20 days, there has been a wonderful participation of citizens, both online and offline. Now our aim is to motivate the people to contribute their best to make the mission ‘Art City to Smart City’ successful ”, Srivastava said to media, recently.
