Kakinada expedites Smart City projects

Smart CityKakinada city in Andhra Pradesh has begun work on Smart City projects. 362 street lights have been replaced with LED.

The installation of environmental sensors and disaster management interventions, readiness of infrastructure and integration plan are on the process of getting completed.

The District Collector of Kakinada who is  also the special officer of Kakinada Municipal Corporation Kartikeya Misra, has directed agencies to speed up the installation work of Variable Message Displays (VMD) at three locations, completion of command control centre building, solution for smart waste bins, installation of CCTV cameras, WiFi access points and smart parking facility.

Virtual classrooms, digital classrooms, computer lab and studio, being built at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore and high school with a budget of Rs 11.73 crore is soon going to finish.

The development of vegetable markets, Gandhi Nagar, roads, have been reviewed by the collector.

The review meeting of Smart City projects were recently held recently.
