ISB to Rank Smart Cities on Basis of Performance

ISBHyderabad: Indian School of Business (ISB) would now develop a Smart City Index for Indian Cities. ISB has two campuses, one in Mohali and other in Hyderabad.

According to reports, ISB said that, “Keeping in mind the ideas launched by Punj Lloyd Institute of Infrastructure Management at ISB, the Index would be made keeping in mind the Indian context though it has been modelled by some best international indices.

The Index would consist of the comparisons among cities and ranking on the basis of the how they perform in terms of developments and growth, added the statement.

O P Agarwal, Executive Director, Punj Lloyd Institute for Infrastructure Management, ISB, said that, “Smart city can be defined as one that is socially, environmentally and financially sustainable and which strives to minimise waste of resources, like energy and water.

“The smart city initiative is an important program of the government for economic development of the country,” further added Agarwal.
