In a bid to be selected in the next challenge round of smart city, the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) has invited suggestions from its locals that can be included in the proposal and hence make a stronger case for the second largest city in Karnataka.
The authority has asked people to give their opinion on issues such as strengthening of local businesses, creating cultural zones, uplifting markets area, encouraging small and medium enterprises, skill development and creating public spaces.
Designing continuous and wide footpaths, creating feeder services to the BRTS, cycles on rent, improved parking management, waste management and shifting of all utilities underground are some of the other areas on which the public can give their inputs. These responses should be submitted online before June 20.
Till now, the body has received inputs from 56,000 people with the figure expected to rise by June 20.
