Gujarat’s Dahod to commence four Smart City projects

Dahod With prospects of development under the Smart City mission, Dahod, the biggest tribal town in Central Gujarat, which enrolled in the second list of Smart City programme, is geared up to start work on four major projects proposed under the mission.

A meeting as to Dahod Smart City Development was held to discuss the developmental arrangements. The meeting held by the board of directors of Dahod Smart City Development Ltd and presided over by Dahod District Collector Vijay Kharadi discussed the deadlines to prepare and begin work on the projects.

Dahod district collector, Vijay Kharadi averred, “We have finalised four projects for which the work will set the ball rolling in the next two months. These projects include a solid waste management, pond beautification, city buses for the town and signboards at three accesses into the town and at public places.”

Among four projects, transport is the prime focus wherein for public facilities six new town buses are envisaged to start. Kharadi added, “We have finished the survey of routes and are about to begin the construction of bus stops. Some decisions as to road widening to avoid traffic and the logistics of the waste management system are underway.”

Also, the proposal for a smart animal hostel to curb the animal menace in the town is forwarded by the board.

“The hostel will serve all kinds of animals – cows, goats, dogs etc and will be fully equipped,” said Vijay Kharadi.
