The Greater Chennai Corporation will soon appoint CEO, CFO and company secretary of the Chennai Smart City Limited (CSCL), the special purpose vehicle (SPV) created recently to implement the Rs 1,366.24-crore smart city project.
To fill the key posts, the corporation has invited job applications from professionals with at least 10 years of experience in urban development, finance management and other relevant fields.
“Anyone meeting the qualification can apply. We would ideally like to have the candidates appointed by the end of November,” a senior corporation official said.
Chennai is among the top 20 cities selected for the government’s ambitious Smart City project. CSCL was formed with 50:50 equity share holding by the state government and the corporation in May this year.
The SPV is presently headed by the corporation’s deputy commissioner (works). The project includes Rs 518 crore worth of water management and information communication technology solutions and Rs 848 crore worth of retrofitting solutions for T Nagar.
“Once the key positions are filled, we should be able to take the project forward rapidly,” an official said.
