Govt shaping contours of ‘Smart Cities’ plan, says Naidu

Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has said that the government is working on the concept of ‘Smart City’ and the contours of implementing the project for developing/building 100 such cities.

Replying to a question raised by P Kumar in the Lok Sabha during Question Hour recently, the minister said that all stakeholders would be consulted in the matter.

The Smart Cities scheme was discussed at a recent meeting of the urban development ministers of states and Union Territories, he said, adding that Parliament would be duly informed of the details of the project after its finalisation.
