Elets Smart City Summit, Surat and Start Up Festival to Bring Together Ideas and Innovations

To deliberate on the adoption of newer technologies in Smart Cities and investment opportunities for startups, Surat Municipal Corporation in association with Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd will organise two-day Smart City Summit and StartUp Festival in Surat from Saturday.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will joined as Chief Guest and Minister of State for Ministry of Commerce and Industry C R Chaudhary will be the Guest of Honour at the Summit.

The summit will be a confluence of of key decision-makers and the industry, offering a common platform and scope for  collaborations and dialogues.

To present the global perspective on Smart Cities, Jan Myhr, Consulate of Sweden, will be present, sharing his country’s progress in developing smart cities.   

From Gujarat administration, M Thennarasan, Commissioner, Surat Municipal Corporation;  K K Nirala, Director, Technical and Higher Education Department, Mamta Verma, Commissioner, Department of Industries; Ashmita Prafulbhai Shiroya, Surat’s Mayor, among others, will deliberate about the departmental works of the State.

Panel discussions will be held on building futuristic smart and sustainable cities through innovation, role of government in supporting startup and innovation ecosystem, and building university innovation ecosystem.

A Mayors’ Conclave is also scheduled with participation from Pratibha Kankhara, Mayor, Jamnagar; Nannapaneni Narender, Mayor, Warangal; Davesh Moudgil, Mayor, Chandigarh; Ravinder Singh, Mayor, Karimnagar and Nimuben Bambhania, Mayor, Bhavnagar.

There will be technical sessions on ‘Smart Mobility and Sustainable Transport System for Building Futuristic Cities’, ‘Importance of IT and and e-governance to Build Futuristic Smart Cities’, and ‘Best Practices of Smart Cities Across India’.

From across the country, Naveen Mahajan, Secretary, Department of Local Self Government, Government of Rajasthan; K Padmakumar, Transport Commissioner, Government of Kerala;  Sanjay L Ghate, General Manager, Kadamba Transport Corporation; Rudra Prasanna Sahu, General Manager, Odisha State Road Corporation, Ajay Chathrankar, General Manager, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Limited;  Sanjay Goel, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics  & Information Technology, Government of India; M Govinda Rao, Deputy Commissioner, Greater Chennai Municipal Corporation  will be sharing the various Smart Cities projects of their respective cities.
