Driverless airport metro in Delhi by 2020

Transiting between different terminals of Indira Gandhi International airport will be made easy through a driverless metro which is expected to get complete by 2020.

The metro will be called the Automated People Mover (APM) as per the recommendation of Master Plan 2016. The design, project cost and other details have been finalised, it was informed by , Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha in a written reply in Lok Sabha.

Delhi International Airport, the GMR-led joint venture consortium which manages IGI is already in talks with the Delh Metro Rail Corporation to discuss the technical possibilities.

This service is expected bring IGI on a par with some of the airports across the world, such as Hong Kong, Changi Paris, Munich, London, which also provide this facility.
