Chaitanya Prasad sets Aug 25 deadline for toilet construction in Bihar’s Saran

Chaitanya PrasadIn a recently held review meeting, Chaitanya Prasad, Bihar’s Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department, has directed the officials of concerned departments to start building toilets in seven towns of Saran district from August 25 and identify areas to set up vending zones in Chhapra town as part of the government’s urban development plan.

Speaking at a meeting to evaluate the ‘Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal’ (tap water in every house) scheme of state government, which was launched in December last year, Prasad said that every household in Saran should be fitted with a tap and directed district magistrate Subrat Kumar Sen to ensure construction of required number of water tanks.

Prasad also expressed concerns for the electrical connections and assured the problems of water flow in taps to be resolved soon.

The meeting was attended by Mayor Priya Devi, Deputy Mayor Amitanjali Soni and Municipal Commissioner A K Sinha. Also were present the executive officers Ekma, Parsa, Dighwara, Sonepur, Revelganj, and Marhoura Nagar Panchayats.

Prasad said that funds for developing vending zones in Chhapra town will be provided by his department. The District Urban Development Authority of Saran has already prepared a plan for developing vending zones in Chhapra, Municipal Commissioner Sinha informed the Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department.
