Even as the ‘100 Smart Cities’ project has received green signal from the Union Cabinet, no city has reportedly been included in the smart cities scheme till now.
Total 100 cities will be selected for the project through a ‘Smart City Challenge’ competition.
The states can’t shortlist their cities until the centre issues guidelines pertaining to the criteria of smart city. The offcials are still waiting for the guidelines to strat the process, according to reports.
