“Best Smart City Initiative” award for Naya Raipur

Naya Raipur has bagged the “Best Smart City Initiative” award at the fourth Smart Cities Expo held in New Delhi.

Jointly organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation, Nasscom’s Center of Excellence for the Internet of Things (CoE-IoT), this Expo has received over 300 exhibitors from India and overseas.

This three-day expo was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Consumer Affairs, Food & Public DIstribution, C R Chaudhary and Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Ashwini Kumar Choubey.

Naya Raipur was especially recognised for its control and command centre.

The components of Smart City includes City Surveillance, Integrated Transport Management System, Integrated Command and Control Centre (CCC), GIS mapping of all utilities, implementation of SCADA system, Smart Governance, highly efficient land and urban planning, green buildings and walkways, water body conservation, inclusive city development, and transit oriented development.

The city will be monitored through integrated Command and Control Centre in the aspects of surveillance, ITMS, water and electrical SCADA, Street lighting.
