Amritsar to be developed as smart city

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said the 500 metre stretch of road from Chowk Phuwara to Golden Temple would be developed as “world’s best street”.

The government aims at developing Amritsar as smart city.

Badal said the detailed project report is ready and work will be started by August this year. Before this, tendering and allocation formaliites have to be done.

Badal was addressing a meeting which was held to review plans for developing Amritsar as smart city.

A statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and huge fountain would be built at the Chowk Phuwara roundabout, which would be completed within a year, the Deputy CM on the occasion said.
