8th Knowledge Exchange to focus on Goa’s digital transformation

Goa is set to host the eighth edition of two-day Elets Knowledge Exchange summit from Friday onwards, with a focus on digital transformation of the State which has largely been known as a tourism paradise of the country.

Being organised by the Government of Goa in association with Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd, a technology and media research company, the summit will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.

Goa’s Governor Mridula Sinha will deliver a special address at the summit.

The summit, to be held at Novotel Goa Resort and Spa, will be a congregation of experts from government sector and private companies who will engage in various segments of discussions and deliberations on the finest practices of the Digital India, especially in relation to Goa.

Deputy Chief Minister of Goa, Sudin Dhawalikar and Chief Secretary Goa Dharmendra Sharma will be present there as well.

The summit is scheduled to be participated by Rohan Ashok Khaunte, Minister of Information Technology, Government of Goa, and Fransis D’Souza, Minister of Urban Development, Government of Goa who will be attending the conclave as the Guests of Honour.

Ameya  Abhayankar, Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Government of Goa; Swayan Choudhari, CEO and Managing Director, Imagine Panaji Smart City Development; Padma Jaiswal, Secretary, Cooperation Department, Government of Goa; and Ajit Roy, Commissioner, Corporation Of The City Of Panaji, will share their vision on ICT initiatives being implemented by the Government of Goa.

To share an international perspective on digital transformation, international speakers like Ulrica Sundberg, Consul General, Consulate General of Sweden;  Klaus Pendl, First Counsellor – ICT, Trade and Economic Section, Delegation of the European Union to India and Kalthoom Al Balooshi, Executive Director of Education Development, Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), Dubai, will bring forward their country’s success stories in this regard.

From across India, Sanjiv Saran, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Information Technology & Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh; V K Gautam, Principal Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Government of Maharashtra; Sanjay Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Housing, Government of Maharashtra; Anjum Parvez, Secretary, Department of Urban Development, Government of Karnataka; George Kuruvilla, Chairman and Managing Director, Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited;  Belina Rana, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Faridabad Smart City Limited; and  Lalit Jain, Director, Department of Information Technology, Government of Himachal Pradesh, are also participating in the summit.

Besides, various tech-leaders helping the Goa Government in digital transformation will present their vision in the summit.

The country’s largest telecom tower company Indus Towers will give a special presentation at the summit. R Balaji, CEO (Maharashtra and Goa)and Nilesh Kelkar, Smart City Head from Indus Towers will explain how the company is helping the Government of Goa in various ICT projects.

Ashish Modi, National Product Head of ICICI Bank will talk about his bank’s initiatives for Digital India.

Sandeep Bhargava, Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Public Policy, Vodafone India will present the telecom perspective of digital transformation at the summit.
