Chennai Municipal Corporation plans to ease the traffic congestion at the Nandanam and Eldams road junctions on Mount Road by building flyovers under the Smart Cities Mission.
Minister for rural and municipal administration S P Velumani held a review meeting, in which he directed the civic body to take up bridge work in selected areas.
The proposals will be made soon, he added.
Two flyovers connecting Eldams Road and Thiyagaraya Road as well as Venkatanarayana Road and Muthuramalingam Thevar Road had been planned, as per Corporation officials.
The discussions regarding this are at an initial stage; once it is sanctioned by the Chennai Smart City Board, the feasibility studies will begin.
